Deputy Director of Communications for the opposition New Patriotic Party, Perry Okudzeto says the headquarters of the opposition New Patriotic Party has been marked for destruction by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Linking the recent raid to the NDC government, Okudzeto said the Mahama-led government facilitated the disturbance in order to distract the minds of Ghanaians from the ailing economy and the troubles that accompanied the NDC primaries.

He also alluded to the fact that the choice of words of President Mahama in recent times before the NDC congress marks the desperation of his administration to still cling to power at any means necessary upon realizing he has failed to deliver.

What the NPP see in this raid and ransack is that it is NDC government which has control over the police and military; so how come a civilian can have access to police and military vehicles? In our minds, somebody wants to destroy the NPP. The desperation on the side of NDC government especially President Mahama’s side is getting out of hands,” he asserted.

To this end, he called on all party faithful to rally behind leadership to register their displeasure over how the security agencies have dealt with the raid at its headquarters.

Perry Okudzeto stressed the NPP is not ready to succumb to the intimations and suppressions of the NDC government by hiding behind the military and the police to disturb the party as this behavior will pose bigger problem for the country if the government is entertained.

The party’s headquarters was raided during the early hours of Monday as faceless people dressed in military and police outfits locked up party security men and made away with computer hard disk drives after destroying party property.

The police have arrested 11 people in connection with the crime. They have been granted bail of Ghs10,000 with two sureties after appearing in court on Wednesday.

But Mr. Okudzeto speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye AbiaMorning Show vowed to resist any attempt to intimidate members of the NPP in order not to extend to entire country in the coming elections.

Mahama over the weeks has showered insults on the NPP and diverting attention from his incompetence. In fact, we won’t allow Mahama to cow us with his desperation” he said.

The NPP has decided to wear red and black on Friday, November 27, 2015 to register their protest over the raid on the party’s headquarters.
