The ruling National Democratic Congress has warned it will withdraw the candidature of any of its newly elected parliamentary candidates who violates the dictates of the party ahead of the 2016 elections.

The party in a statement said candidate-elects must know that they are still not official representatives of the party for next year’s polls until they are “signed off” by its general secretary and the electoral commission.

The warning follows fears that some aspirants who lost at the party’s just ended primaries may go independent as a result of provocations from victors and their supporters.

The NDC went to the polls on Saturday November 21 to elect their presidential and parliamentary candidates for the 2016 elections.

Below are details of the statement by the NDC
All elected Parliamentary Candidates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), must know that they are not official candidates of the Party until the General Secretary signs them off and the Electoral Commission sends out Notices of Polls to that effect.

Any NDC person who has won primaries, and goes against the accepted/approved rules of engagement, and abuses the sensibilities of the Party via their actions/utterances, shall have his/her candidature withdrawn.

All should take note and apply themselves above board.
