Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) was adjudged the best business in Ghana’s beverage sector at the just ended Ghana Industry Awards organised by the Association of Ghana Industries.

The Ghana Industry Awards was instituted to recognise companies that achieve outstanding success in various areas of industry.

GGBL, a leading total beverage business and a subsidiary of Diageo plc, was recognised for its resilience in the face of business challenges to provide quality products, create employment opportunities to over 700 Ghanaians coupled with skills development, technology transfer and sustainable community investment such sourcing local raw materials for the production of its products.

Rita Agyeiwaa Rockson, Ag. Corporate Relations Director of GGBL said the recognition is rewarding.

“We remain committed to providing our consumers with great innovations such as Orijin, Star Lite and multiple award winning Ruut Beer – Ghana’s first cassava beer. Through our community investment we will also continue to positively impact the communities in which we live and operate,” she said.

GGBL has made significant strides in achieving their ambition of the being the best performing, most trusted and respected consumer Products Company in Ghana and has been recognised for various achievements such as the 2014 overall best company in Ghana – Ghana Industry Awards; 2014 best beverage business in Ghana – Ghana Industry Awards and best performing market in the Diageo Africa Regional Market.
