The annual general meeting of the Ghana Psychological Association(GPA) was scheduled today, 26th November ,2015. A meeting which is to assessed the prospect of the Association and among others elect a student representative to serve on GPA board, which since it's inception is lacking.

Members present were about encouraging hundreds of them. A mixture of Psychology Professionals and students from the graduate and undergraduate level across the country.

As stated earlier in my submission, election of students representative was part of the agenda for the meeting and this is how it went; Members were asked to nominate 3 students to contest so that the house will vote and elect one as a students representative. Mr. Alexander Avor , Mr. Emmanuel Ashitey and Miss Odum were then nominated.

At the end of the electoral processes, Mr. Emmanuel Ashitey Armah emerged as the right person to represent the students on the board.

Mr. Emmanuel Ashitey Armah is a humble level 300 Psychology major student of University of Ghana. He has passion and ambition to serve students and also a wider vision to popularise Psychology in Ghana and Africa.

He is currently the general secretary for the University of Ghana Association of Psychology Students ( UNIGAPS-ACC) and also the dependable course representative for level 300 Psychology student UG-ACC and now the students representative on the Ghana Psychology Association board.

To him this is quite not all challenging and he is honoured to be given this opportunity, he thank God and the people present for such an honor.

He promised to deliver his service diligently as he has always been doing.

Even when he wasn't a student representative, he was able to increase the students membership by registering about 60 students and is now challenged to do more to promote Psychology in Ghana and armed to fully represent students interest on the board.

The meeting ended with a lot of suggestion from members. Ghanaians should be expecting an active and vibrant Psychology Association.
