Message From Hon Sophia Karen Ackuaku To Ndc Members In Domeabra-obom Constituency

26.11.2015 LISTEN
By Citizen Korsi

Fellow Akatamansonians in Domeabra-Obom constituency, Saturday, November 21, 2015, Election Day, History beckoned. Courage stood tall. Fairness and Justice raised their heads. Democracy blew its trumpet. You, the people, the electorate, answered its call by marching to a victory only you could achieve.

Now, the official announcement from the Electoral Commission has come. Democracy has triumphed once again. I have been officially declared NDC parliamentary candidate for the Domeabra-Obom constituency for the 2016 parliamentary election. I know that it is only God who crowns KINGS. To Him be the Glory.

Let me congratulate the EC for a job well done and keeping alive Ghana’s hope for a brighter democracy. To my main opponent, Comrade Isaac Awuku Yibor who could not go pass the vetting, I thank you for what could have been a keen contest, and invite you to join hands with me in continuing from where our senior comrade and outgoing MP, Hon Daoud Yemoh Anum will end the NDC vision.

I shall honor the privileged contract you, members of the NDC, have signed with me with every fiber of my being. This day I pledge to you all that I shall devote myself to bringing even greater prosperity, growth and development to every inch of this constituency, that I shall build on the legacy and progress of Hon Daoud Yemoh Anum’s administration, I shall bring the best of Domeabra-Obom into my administration and I shall make you proud and glad that you supported by bid.

I thank all those who supported me and those who didn’t support me. That is the beauty of democracy. All of us cannot belong to the same camp. To the gallant young men and women, I salute and applaud all of you for making this a fine day in the march towards Ghana’s democracy.

In your collective wisdom, you have constantly refused to reward a party that failed at the national level when it was given the opportunity from 2001 to 2012, and has maintained a healthy dalliance with the great NDC party. I intend, with the support of Comrade Isaac Awuku Yibor, Hon Daoud Yemoh Anum and you, to strengthen that bond. What is needed now is for all of us to put all issues that characterized the primaries behind us and work in unison to retain the seat and consolidate the presidential vote for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.

Let me again place on record my thanks, particularly to the Domeabra-Obom branch of the NDC, everyone from the constituency executives through to branch executives and volunteers who have all been wonderful and committed. My team, who worked tirelessly with me to actualize this dream, I thank you all.

I congratulate His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama on his overwhelming endorsement as our great party’s presidential candidate for the 2016 elections. I will not only assure His Excellency of retaining the seat for the party but will assure him of 90 percent of the total votes in Domeabra-Obom constituency in 2016 to seal his one-touch dream. I look forward to working with his incoming government to effectuate the NDC vision and bring greater progress to the people of Domeabra-Obom.

I want to reiterate that the primaries is over, let us fold our sleeves and get to work to fashion and work together to retain the seat and increase the presidential vote. I know we can do it and we must do it together. You have done your bid by supporting me to emerge the parliamentary candidate. Now, I shall work for you and your cause. That cause is to extend and expand the process of development and growth in this constituency.

The task ahead is not an easy one. Nor is it impossible. With wisdom, creativity, strength of purpose and unity we can accomplish great things for this great constituency. By God’s grace, we shall make this our way. May God bless us all. Thank You.

Signed
Hon Sophia Karen Ackuaku
