In relation to this, The Deputy Director for the National Development Planning Committee, Mr. Jonathan Azasoo also expressed dissatisfaction over development of Tarkwa as a mining town in the Western Region.

He said, Tarkwa where very important resources are generated has failed to develop in terms of education, road infrastructural and so on.

Mr. Jonathan Azasoo added that, though the natural resources are channel to the government, the Municipal Assembly is autonomous and must write to the government the challenges of Tarkwa and request for resources.
