Radio Broadcaster and Event Organizer, Nana Kwame Owusu Nkwantabisa popularly known as Nana Kay—has called on all stakeholders to put up pragmatic measures in place to reduce the alarming rate of teenage pregnancies in the Brong Ahafo region.

According to him, it is a wake up call for institutions like the social welfare to implement strategic measures and intensive educational programs to help cramp down the reported cases of teenage pregnancy in the region.

He lamented that social welfare has failed to execute the mandate and it’s a cause for concern.

“I’m very sad to hear this report and I think authorities should wake up from their sleep and do something about it immediately,” he told Mr. Lattus on J.Life FM’s Entertainment Chart Show.

When asked if events and gigs being held in the region have a hand in the development, Nana K said: “Oh my brother, that can’t be the issue. The situation in Accra and Kumasi is not alarming like here…and how many events do we organize here as compare to those places. Something is wrong somewhere and I will shift all the blame on Social Welfare. They should be up and doing.” He said events and gigs have nothing to do with issue at hand.

Nana Kwame urged Social Welfare and all other stakeholders to partner with event organizers in the region and map up educational programs for teenagers in the region.

“We need to come together and mastermind on how to curb this menace.Social Welfare could safe situations if they partner with event organizers and also step out to these teenagers in the various

schools.”

He posited that Social Welfare has remained dormant in the region.
