A group of disgruntled youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Takoradi Constituency of the Western Region has vowed to vote against the party's elected parliamentary candidate for the 2016 parliamentary elections, Alfred Ekow Gyan.

The angry NDC youth activists are believed to be supporters of Janet Ansah, one of the contenders in the party's just ended parliamentary primaries in the Takoradi constituency.

They have accused Mr Ekow Gyan, who is also the deputy Western Regional Minister of allegedly scheming to win the parliamentary primaries results at some polling centres in Takoradi.

They have therefore vowed to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP's) candidate for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah and vote for President John Mahama in the presidential election which is termed as 'skirt and blouse' come the 2016 general elections.

The alleged supporters of Janet Ansah, who thronged the collation centre of the primaries in the Takoradi constituency at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in their numbers, were not satisfied with the total votes polled by their idol candidate at the end of the polls.

Alfred Ekow Gyan, the deputy regional minister who was also the NDC's parliamentary candidate in the last general elections, polled 1,567 to beat the only challenger, Janet Ansah who had 460 votes.

Benjamin Nana Sam Brew, one of the alleged supporters of Janet Ansah in an interview with DAILY GUIDE alleged that he had evidence to prove that Mr Gyan also known as 'Abott' connived with some officials to manipulate the election results in his (Gyan's) favour.

Meanwhile, a number of NDC members in the constituencies who did not find their names in the voters register were denied the opportunity to cast their votes.

They could not fathom why their names were found during the exhibition of the voters register but the same names were missing during the election time.

They expressed disappointment at the unfortunate turn of events and blamed the officials at the party headquarters and some constituency executives for the alleged blunder.
