JOHN OCANSEY SUES NDC & EC, For Undermining Court injunction..

John Ayiku Ocansey, a parliamentary aspirant of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija- Gbawe constituency has filed a suite against the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) and the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) for what he described as a violation of the legal process when the two establishments went ahead to conduct the presidential election on Saturday 21 November 2015, despite an junction by a High court in Accra .

Mr. Ocansey who secured an injunction from the High court on 20 November, 2015 further submitted a copy to the NDC regional Secretariat, and EC to withhold the parliamentary and presidential elections in the constituency on 21st November but the EC and NDC disrespected the court injunction and went ahead to conduct the election.

Mr. John Ocansey is in court challenging the legality of his suspension by the greater Accra Chairman Ade Coker.

Mr. Ade Coker who is known as a very close ally of Ocansey’s main contender, Madam Obuobia Opoku Darko is said to be the one who ordered the election to be conducted .

Ade Coker, who was heard on radio Gold, an Accra based radio station saying he would do everything in his capacity to ensure John Ocansey’s Suspension for Obuobia Opoku Darko to go unopposed, has been warned by some disgruntled NDC delegates in Weija-Gbawe constituency to stop creating division and enmity among the party members .

Below is the full statement issued by Chairman Ade Coker to suspend Mr. John Ayiku Ocansey;

Press statement read by the regional chairman at its press conference today 10/11/12,

1. Weija-Gbawe constituency
An aspirant named John Ayiku Ocansey had a press conference with his team to make all manner of allegations against the party and other persons in the region.

At the end of his press conference, his team of supporters stormed one of the exhibition centres in the constituency, had a disagreement with the person in charge of the exhibition and in the process tore the register being exhibited.

The Region Executives in the quest to resolve all issues since its a family affairs were left with nothing but insults and humiliation by the aspirant. The regional party has therefore decided to

evoke ARTICLE 46, CLAUSE 8(A,B,C) to suspend Mr. John Ayiku Ocansey of the Weija-Gbawe constituency and his supporters are therefore cautioned to restrain themselves and refrain from any act of hooliganism since the party is more supreme than any individual. The entire Weija-Gbawe constituency executives should step aside and handover the election materials to the Regional Secretariat.
