The National Women Organiser of the National Democratic Congress - Hajia Joyce Mahama has charged NDC UK & Ireland Youth and Women's wing to stay focused and support President Mahama retain power in 2016 elections.

Madam Hajia Mahama , the National Women's Organiser of the NDC on Satutday, 7th November met NDC UK Ireland chapter women's wing and South London Branch Youth Wing in an extraordinary meeting in South London. She was accompanied by His Excellency Victor Smith, Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Madam Zuwera Ibrahima, head of the Information Department at the High Commission.

In her key note address, The National Women Organiser advised the youth and the women to stay focused, united and work hard to support the NDC government retain power in 2016. She emphasised that the NDC should not concentrate on the division in the NPP but rather work hard by telling Ghanaians what the NDC has done.

Madam Hajia Mahama was confident the good works of the NDC will give president Mahama and the NDC government a second term. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the NDC UK & Ireland Chapter for the warm welcome they have extended to her during her short stay in London.

His Excellency Victor Smith, reiterated that despite the challenges the government has faced over the years, the unprecedented developments across the length and breath of the country will be appreciated by Ghanaians and vote for NDC government in the 2016 elections. He stated that power barges from Turkey are currently on their to Ghana to solve the power crisis, moreover, the economy is also recovering.

The South London Youth Organiser, Mr Alfred Freddy Kotogbor outlined his vision for the youth of South London branch and encouraged them to travel to Ghana in their numbers to vote for the NDC come the 2016 elections.

Madam Luisa Nelson, the Chapter Women's Organiser appealed to the women to remain united and work together to support their men retain power in the 2016 elections.

Mr Joe Owusu-Agyeman, the Chapter Vice Chairman who chaired the meeting encouraged members to continue with their good work in ensuring that the NDC UK & Ireland Chapter plays a key role in the 2016 elections.
