Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as SIR JOHN, has assured Diaspora of the victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2016 elections. Sir John gave the assurance in a simple statement at a send off party hosted by the Ghanaian Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Toronto at the Church’s gymnasium on Sunday, November 1, 2015.

Sir John returns to Ghana on Thursday, November 5, 2015, to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP) political campaign team to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Sir John, the former General Secretary of the NPP, was in Canada for 40 days working tour to prepare the way for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, NPP Presidential Candidate for the 2016 Presidential and parliamentary elections.

While in Canada for a two-day working visit, Nana Akufo-Addo was the guest of honour at a Dinner at Luxury Fontana Primavera Banquet Hall in Woodbridge and the Town Hall Meeting at the Ghanaian Presbyterian Church in Toronto both hosted jointly by the NPP Canada Branch and the NPP Toronto Chapter.

Sir John spent most of his time visiting churches, including Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where he worships as a member, the Ghanaian Presbyterian Church, the Church of Pentecost and, All Nations Full Gospel Church and some Ghanaian Radio Stations also including San-Ko-Fa and Trinity Radio Stations.

He also took time off to visit the NPP Edmonton Chapter in Western Canada. Sir John’s message during the tour was mainly centred on the plight of Ghanaians under the incompetent administration of Prez. John Mahama and appealed for support from all for the NPP.

At the send off party were many guests including Christian Akyempon, Chairman of the NPP Toronto Chapter, Mr. Alex Barning, Vice-Chairman, Bright Owusu-Ansah, Secretary of Toronto Chapter, Cecilia Akyempon, Chair of Fund Raising Committee, and Businessman Mr Asante and his wife who chaired the send off.

Others included Mr. MacDonald Agbenyo, former Chairman of NPP Toronto Chapter and Ticket Master for the Planning Committee, Mr. Richmond Bugyei Twum, Chairman of Planning Committee for Nana Akufo-Addo visit, MacDonald Owusu and Mr. Joseph Kwasi Obeng, both members of the Planning Committee.

The rest were Samuel Nana Yaw Ameh, NPP Toronto Chapter Organiser, Kevin Asamoah Brempong, Youth Organiser, Ms. Lydia Atiemo, a member of the Chapter, members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Ghana in Toronto. Kwabena Nsenkyire was the Master of Ceremonies at the send off party.
