Ghana to get a National Biometric Data System (NBDS) “between 2016-2020”.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I will like to take this opportunity on behalf of the cabinet of the Ghana International Development Consortium (GIDC) in association with the Passionate Ghana Pastors and Professionals (PGPP) in the Diaspora to inform the general public that, GIDC & PGPP is made up of most of the Ghanaian and international professionals living in the Diaspora. Our aim is to identify some of the political, economic and social problems facing Ghana and help provide lasting solutions to them. The on going debate on the biometric voter’s register which is proving a cry very difficult for the good people of Ghana to resist has been heard. For that reason, we are now properly positioned to make sure that, Ghana becomes the first West-African country to posses an “All in One Synchronised Data System” as a lasting solution to the problem. We will offer our professional consultation free of charge to help the country.

We and our trusted IT partners are willing to design and provide the country with the best Data system that no IT company, not even the Kofi Annan’s IT school in Ghana can develop it to solve the problem. The Data problem which is facing the country can’t be solved, without the involvement of international professionals who have the technology, the capacity and the funds to build such an “All in One Synchronised Data System”. It can solve the problem once and for all. This is a system that the American’s do not posses.

We are of the view that, all the resources that the nation is currently spending in search for a solution will yield no lasting results to the problem. The purchase of Biometric verification machines from Holland by the former EC before the 2012 elections was a waste of national resources. This machine cannot solve the problem all alone without the support of a “National Data System (NDS)”. The end result of that election is what Ghanaians witnessed during and after the 2012 general elections.

Let me give you some few functionalities of our “All in One Synchronised Data System” as follows:

1. The system will provide a modern voting technology that can address the voter verification problem in Ghana and the challenges facing the nation. There is no way one can vote twice.

2. A database of citizens and foreigner’s profile such as their date of birth, date of death, marital status, address, business, region, district, constituency etc. A nationwide implementation of this system will help maintain the requisite records and other pertinent information needed to formulate national policies, and to conduct fraudulent elections.

3. The system will make it possible for Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) to provide at daily basis an authentic data at a request of the President, NIA and the other 78 government institutions or recognised stakeholder in Ghana.

4. The system will identify the movement of every citizen or foreigner from one city, town or village to the other.

5. The system can make it possible for the President even in his office to have on daily basis any data he may need from any city, village or district for any national purpose.

This proposal has been sent to the Ghana Ambassador in Berlin under the leadership of H.E Akua Sena Dansua for on forwarding to the Electoral Commission (EC) chaired by Honourable Mrs. Osei Charlotte for her action.

As this proposal is of great interest to the nation, it is our hope that the honourable will do it.
