Democracy and the Doctrine of the Nicolaitanes

Democracy and the Doctrine of the Nicolaitanes
30.10.2015 LISTEN

It is written, “So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth” (Revelation 2:15-16).

It is a passage of scripture that is often overlooked because scripture does not provide a detailed account of the nature of this doctrine. Only, we know that the “doctrine of the Nicolaitanes” is something that the ruler of heaven and earth, Yeshua the Christ, hates. As well, we know that he hates this doctrine enough, so that, he warned his brethren to repent of it. In this article, we will look at the Nicolaitane doctrine and its relation to democratic government.

Sound Doctrine: The Foundation of Kingdom Government

All forms of government are run based on core teachings known as “doctrine”. In the Kingdom of God, the foundational doctrine is truth, based on the teachings of Yeshua ha Mashiach (the Christ).

It is written, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4). What is sound doctrine? It is teaching that is based on truth and therefore free of spiritual error. In other words, Satan’s signature of lying is not a part of that doctrine.

Sound doctrine is what God has led His people to know by His Holy Spirit leading us into all truth. The former scripture warns of a time when error-free doctrine will not be endured by God’s people. Instead, they will “heap to themselves teachers” (indicating elected hierarchy), to say what their ears prefer to hear. What they will want to hear is teaching that is based on “fables”. Fables are stories that are not based on fact! In the Kingdom of God, fact is relative to what God records as truth. Yahweh sees all, knows all and is able to recall every event of human history with 100% accuracy. This is why His Son Yeshua knew all about the Nicolaitanes.

Nicolaitan Doctrine: Devil-Inspired, Man-made Philosophy

Without even looking for references, we can know based on reason and the revelation of the Holy Spirit, what Nicolaitane doctrine is. When we read the introductory scripture in context, it is evident that this doctrine is something that Yeshua particularly hates. He hates it to the extent that he was going to fight with “the sword” of his mouth against those who did not repent of the doctrine. The only time the Son of God wars with his mouth is when the Father says so…during his sojourn on earth he warred against the teachings of the Pharisees, Sadducees and scribes of his day. They had twisted scripture to suit their own preferences. The Nicolaitane doctrine, like the teachings of the Pharisee sect, is heresy: deviation from the principles of the Word of God.

The fight of the gospel message is to replace spiritual error with spiritual truth…devil philosophy with divine wisdom. Hence, the Nicolaitane doctrine was a teaching that sought, like every other false doctrine, to place man at the centre of his universe, without divine input. This is the essence of the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes. This doctrine led to self-will among some in the church at Pergamos. The specific sins or “deeds” of the Nicolaitane bunch are actually not mentioned in scripture. However, we know that false doctrine is always rooted in the spirit of pride and lying. It is written, “These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue…” (Mishlei/Proverbs 6:16-17). As well, we know that the Pergamos church dwelt where “Satan’s seat” was, indicating the presence of a concentration of evil-based spiritual government.

Democracy: Rule by the People
Like the Nicolaitane doctrine, which is rooted in self-will, the spiritual doctrine of democracy is rule or power vested in people, with people being SUPREME. In other words, democracy, as a ruling philosophy leaves no room for the “rule of God”. Rather, democracy espouses the “rule of law”. Or better yet, the “rule of the people’s law”. Democracy is a system of government where human beings are their own bosses in terms of legislation, execution of laws and judgment. Democracy inherently refutes even divine input in the selection of those who govern, in preference for what the world calls a political election.

However, what is often not thoroughly observed by many Christians in our day, is that democratic election is filled with the hallmarks of Nicolaitane doctrine. This comes in the form of campaign speeches laced with what the peoples’ “itching ears” want to hear. As well, despite the change of the guard, democracy in all nations maintains a status quo of economics and justice that is based on the error-laden scientific philosophies of human beings, and not the Word of God.

Conclusion
So you see, there is a strong correlation between the doctrines of democracy and the doctrine of the Niciolaitanes. At least, it should be known that the spirit of both, point to spiritual error among human beings. It is no wonder then that the worldly church leaders of our day (the harlot church), continue to play their role in aiding and abetting world governments, while disobeying the commands of Christ.

It is written, “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his POWER, and his SEAT, and great AUTHORITY” (Revelation 13:1-2). This is the global democratic government of the beast! Amen (and so shall it be).
