As the nation draws close to the 2016 Elections Ghanaian Ministers in the Washington Metro Area of the United States came together to pray for Gods hand and will to prevail in the electioneering process.

The October 23rd event was held at the premises of the Action Chapel International Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The Ghanaian ministers Fellowship and other ministers from the entire Washington Metro Area at the event included Rev. Kwasi Gyimah, Rev. Yaw Nkansah, Rev. Lamptey, Rev. Nana Sarfo, Apostle Emmanuel Nkum, Apostle Evan Ahmed Nyarko, Rev. Nkrumah, Rev. Seth Akyea, Rev. Edwin Otabil and the host Bishop Kibby Otoo.

Speaking at the gathering, the host and Bishop of Action Chapel International Church in Alexandria, Virginia, Bishop Kibby Otoo said, ‘ Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: ” He therefore reminded his fellow men of God about the role ministers of God have to play by seeking God’s spiritual protection and direction for the nation

Rev. Edwin Otabil, President of the Ghanaian Ministers fellowship encouraged his fellow ministers to seek Gods intervention continuously before and even after the elections.

Rev. Kwasi Gyimah of the Church of the Living God on the other hand advised the ministers to pray to allow the will of God to prevail as the Choice of leadership remains the prerogative of God.

As the Prayer session was going on, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo who happened to be in the area for an NPP fundraising ceremony nearby joined the ministers and humbly submitted himself to be prayed for.

The entire gathering of ministers stretched forth their hands towards him and prayed for God’s wisdom and strength upon his life. . After the prayer session Nana Ado who was accompanied by his Wife, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah , the NPP-USA Chairman and also his personal assistant Ms. Saratu Atta expressed his profound gratitude to the ministers for the opportunity and also for their thoughtfulness. He felt elated to crown his visit to the United States with a prayer session after addressing the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC and also meeting various United States Government Officials and visiting many Institutions.

He however bemoaned the current state of the nation and its mounting indebtedness under the NDC government. While in the USA, Nana Akufo-Addo held meetings with the NPP USA executives and members, and also held a press conference with the Ghanaian media in the USA organized by the NPP USA communication director Kwaku Kyei Ofori. Nana also had a live interview with Bloomberg in New York.

A fund raising event organized by the Washington Metro Area Chapter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gave the Ghanaian Community the opportunity to interact one on one with Nana Akufo-Addo. Nana mingled with everyone and listened to their concerns

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was on the second leg of his three nation tour after attending an NPP International Conference in Amsterdam. He was in the United States from October 18 to October 25, 2015, and he will finish his North American tour with a two-day visit to Canada.
