We’ll Deal With Prof. Adei – KT Hammond

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Asokwa, K.T. Hammond has stated that parliament will deal ruthlessly with the former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Studies, (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei.

The outspoken professor is on record to have stated that “at least 8 in 10 politicians in Ghana are glorified thieves although almost every need of theirs is met by the state.”

Prof. Adei also alleged that some MPs use their positions not only to demand bribes for themselves but for their girlfriends as well.

But, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, K.T Hammond described the comments as unfortunate and disappointing.

He added that parliament would immediately haul Prof. Adei before the privileges committee to prove his allegations when parliament reconvenes on October 27.

“It is one of the first things we would do immediately we return…it is unfortunate for a man of his stature to make such claims.

“If he knows one or two people who have engaged in such acts before, it doesn’t mean he has the right to generalize. It describes all of us as people who take bribes…it is annoying…and we will deal with him at the appropriate time,” Hon. Hammond said.
