Ntiribuoho (Ash), Oct. 12, GNA - Mr. Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, Afigya-Kwabre District Chief Executive (DCE), has asked local entrepreneurs to produce quality products and ensure that they were properly packaged.

This, he said, would not only increase demand for locally produced commodities but also go a long to create employment opportunities for the youth.

Mr. Oppong-Kyekyeku was speaking at a graduation ceremony for 45 women and men who underwent two-weeks training in soap making and soya bean products at Ntiribuoho in the District.

It was organized by the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the Rural Enterprises Programmes (REP) with support from the District Assembly.

The DCE said the programme, the sixth in the district, was part of the government's efforts at improving the private sector, which was considered as 'the engine of growth' towards the socio-economic development of the nation.

Mr. Oppong-Kyekyeku stressed the need for the participants to start doing 'something' and run it as a business to attract financial support from the District Assembly.

Madam Marina Kusi, Head of the BAC, thanked the REP and the Assembly for helping the Centre to organize the workshop.

She urged the participants to put into practice the knowledge they had acquired and share the idea with other interested but unemployed in the community.

She said opportunities were available for other people who show interested in learning other employable skills in the processing industry for them to improve their livelihood.

Nana Kwame Agyeman, an Elder of the town praised the government for the programme and asked that it acts quickly to provide start-up capital for the participants.
