Ghana-Russian Forum Seeks To Attract Investors

As further efforts to promote economic opportunities and facilitate the possibility of investment and trade in Ghana, the Ghana's ambassador to the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Dr. Kodzo Kpoku Alabo, has officially announced the first Ghana/Russian Business forum to be organized next April 2016 in Moscow.

Explaining to the media after his arrival from the three-day working visit to Chisinau, capital of the Republic of Moldova, Dr Alabo said the key aim of the forum was to create awareness among the potential investors, business leaders and industry directors about existing business and investment opportunities in all sectors in the Republic of Ghana.

As expected, the business forum will help to raise the level of economic cooperation and to strengthen the many-sided interaction among participating Government officials from ministries and departments, and invited participants from carefully selected economic and industrial sectors as well as medium-scale businesses from the private sector in Russia and the former Soviet republics.

Through this corporate business forum, the officials of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana completely believe that they will be able to reach various mutual agreements with interested foreign individuals and companies, take steps into laying a complete road map in establishing strong commercial or economic leverage between Russia and the Republic of Ghana.

While in Moldova, the Ambassador held a series of business meetings including one with the Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Bilateral Relations, Mr. Tudor Ulianovschi, during which the two sides re-affirmed their commitment to raise the level of economic, commercial and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

The other meeting was with the Vice President of the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Mr. Vladimir Didilica.

"There are many Russian companies that are ready to take part in infrastructural projects and they are willing to partner with local business companies in investment areas on mutually beneficial basis," Mr. Vladislav Zuev, head of the International Cooperation of Consult, an Investment and Financial Services company, said in an interview.

Mr. Zyev added that a number of investors are especially interested in investing in agricultural infrastructure and agro-processing as well as to engage in industrial production. And at the moment, these issues are being vigorously discussed bearing in mind the country is politically stable and the business environment is conducive and attractive in Ghana.
