The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party NPP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s recent “Rise and Build” campaign tour has energized so many Ghanaians in and outside Ghana.

Particularly in America and Canada, the show of unity as well as decisiveness on the part of the NPP as evidenced by the rise and build campaign is so clear for anyone to see.

So the NPP Toronto Chapter come October 25-26, 2015 will hold a dinner and a town hall meeting to further energize members on his drive to power in 2016 campaign.

Confirming to this reporter, the chairman of the chapter, Mr. Christian Akyeampong, disclosed that both the dinner and the town hall meeting will feature Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as the special guest.

Mr. Christian Akyeampong said, the true yearning of the people for competent people to run the government of Ghana, will surely overcome any chicanery on the part of the NDC to remain in power against the wishes of a clear majority of Ghanaians by 2016.

According to him, currently in Canada the rise and build campaign has created a great enthusiasm which has increased NPP membership and interest in strengthening the chapters across the country and North America in general.

With this the NPP Toronto Chapter assures its preparedness to work hand in hand with other branches to help members in Ghana in whatever way that it can to actualize the return of the NPP to power in 2016.

“That is why not resting on oars, the Toronto Chapter of the NPP is confirming bringing our presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo to interact with members and the residents come October 25-26 2015” he noted.

Creating a platform for interaction between Ghanaians resident in Greater Toronto Area [GTA] and New Patriotic Party NPP members in Canada is progressing steadily.

The opposition NPP Toronto Chapter has been using the town hall meeting platform to officially spread the party’s manifesto as well as the message of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s 2016 campaign message to canvas for votes.

It is also offering the general public the opportunity to assess the party’s structures, preparedness for the national exercise as well as critical issues for clarifications which has been going on well.

At the last town hall meeting where an NDC card bearing member asked a critical question as to what the NPP government will do to improve their lots and the answers that were provided by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong opened a healthy discussion.

Mr. Christian Akyeampong said the dinner with Nana Akufo Addo at Fontana Primavera 77 Woodstream Boulevard in Wood Bridge Area on October 25 will raise funds for the party.

Whiles the town hall meeting on October 26 will give the presidential candidate the platform to discuss the Social and Economic issues in Ghana with residents in Canada and why NPP has the resources to place Ghana back on the road to development.

Fliers announcing the dinner and the town hall meeting featuring Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo NPP’S presidential candidate has been in circulation for about three months now which has drawn majority of Ghanaians living here’s attention to the biggest event coming on.

At the dinner in Fontana Primavera Hotel, it is expected that hundreds of patriotic followers of the NPP and sympathizers of the party’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo, clad in their beautiful traditional Kente clothe, African wears or party colours will buy their hundred dollars ticket to have a wonderful feast.

The following day which is October 26, a greater number of party faithful and sympathizers will fill every chair in the auditorium of the Ghanaian Presbyterian Church, 51 Meadow Place, Toronto-Ontario, M9L OAL at 3:30p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The usual shouts of the NPP slogan “Kukrudu, Eshie Rado Rado…..” may be revised to a new one which goes like this,” Kukrudu, power” with the third shout “Kukrudu” seeing members rising up and responding “power, power, power now” this reporter has learnt.

In 2011 late president John Evans Atta Mills visited Canada and held a town hall meeting with Ghanaians in Ottawa where he briefed the community about his then government business back home.

Prior to the 2012 general elections, the NPP vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mohamadu Bawumiah also visited Canada and held a town hall meeting in Toronto where he explained why the NPP wanted to wrest power from the NDC government.

In fact no one really knows what message the NPP presidential candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo would be keeping under his sleeves only to deliver to Ghanaians in Toronto-Canada.

But one can easily say that Nana Akufo Addo will definitely touch on the economic situation in Ghana, the energy crisis, strikes in public sector, security lapses, falling standard in education and health, the spiraling of the country’s currency CEDI against major currencies such as the dollar and other issues.
