Mustapha Mohammed, a Nigerian, according to police reports, attempted to transport the Indian Hemp in an ABC bus bound for Nigeria.

Gbafe was also apprehended on the Kanda Highway after he attempted to transport the goods to Spintex Road.

DCOP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Accra Regional Police Commander, who briefed the media, said Mohammed was nabbed on October 4, 2015 around 6:30am at the Caprice ABC transport services after loading the items into two traveling bags to secure his ticket to Nigeria.

During the pre-departure formalities, the porter in charge of the terminal opened the first bag and found 28 parcels of the suspected Indian hemp concealed in the bag.

The porter again opened the second bag and discovered 20 parcels of the substance in it.

Suspect was quickly handed over to the police with the items for investigations.

At the police station, the concealed parcels were opened and counted in the presence of the suspect.

Upon interrogation, Mohammed mentioned one Osman from Techiman in the Brong Ahafo region as the owner of the items.

Gbafe was also apprehended on October 3, 2015, around 5:40pm upon a tip-off by the police.

A police patrol team on duty around Agbogbloshie had information that the two men were on board a taxi cab with a fertilizer sack containing some compressed parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and heading towards the Spintex Road.

The patrol team intercepted the taxi cab on the Kanda Highway.

After the vehicle was searched, the police retrieved 42 parcels of the compressed dried leaves concealed in the bag.

Gbafe, after claiming ownership of the items, stated that his son one Courage Gbafe sent the items to him from Hohoe in the Volta Region.

The Police are making frantic efforts to apprehend Courage Gbafe as investigations continue.
