Seidu is said to have informed his friend that his 72 year old father, Seidu Alhassan, had sold his fat cow and kept the money in the house and on the said date at about 0200, after a heavy down pour, the two armed with locally-manufactured pistols forcibly entered his father's room.

At gun-point, they tied the old man's hands and legs and threw him out of him room's window.

Superintendent Arhin said neighbours got attracted to the scene, when the fear-gripped old Alhassan, in a trembling voice raised an alarm.

Neighbours on seeing bold footprints etched in the mud, got suspicious and this was carefully traced to Amadu's house where the other pair of the footwear was found.
