Newly-elected members of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly were sworn in during the inaugural session of the house on Tuesday, 6th October, 2015 paving way for a new assembly.

45 newly members were sworn in by the Tarkwa Magistrate Court judge by Mr. Jonathan Desmond Nunoo.

The 45 members include 30 elected assembly members, 13 government appointees, the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency.

It was attended by chiefs, the clergy, departmental heads and families of the assembly members.

In his welcoming address, the MCE for tarkwa nsueam municipal, Mrs. Christian Cobinah, urged the new members to help the TNMA to achieve its vision to ensure total socio-economic and political development of the district. She congratulated the assembly members and urged them to work in unity to move the district forward.

Mrs. Cobinnah called on members to bury their political differences and work together for the positive transformation of the communities adding that members should bury their political differences and work together for the positive transformation of the communities.

Mr. Joseph Abban Mensah, the incumbent presiding member for the previous house has been elected as the new presiding member for the assembly.
