The District Chief Executive For Fanteakwa in the Eastern Region, Abass Fuseini Sbaabe has commended the immediate past assembly members for their outstanding performance within their four- year term of office which has impacted positively on the Assembly.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the 7th Assembly of the Fanteakwa District Assembly at Begoro, urged the new assembly members to emulate the hardwork of their predecessors by putting in their best as far as operations of the Assembly are concerned.
He said the Assembly has chalked so many successes in terms of health, education, portable water, agriculture among others but said much needs to be done and has called for support from all the members.
"I urge all members to help the Assembly in order to widen our tax base by identyfying and reportung properties and institutions that are not paying tax for the Assembly to take the neccessary actiins".
Mr. Abass Sbaabe however appealed to members to desist from partisan debates but rather bring on board new ideas for the betterment of the Assembly.
Presidential Staffer, Mr. Kofi Ofori also pledged government's continious support to the various MMDAs in order to augment the developmental projects being undertaken by the Assemblies.
He also called on parliamentarians to take into consideration suggestions from Assemby members in the course of their duty since they are the lawmakers.
