OCT 7, 2015 LISTEN

There is tension at the Kukurantumi Presby JHS following the bizarre disappearance of some 15 laptops given to the school by IT firm, Rlg and government.

The laptops which were kept in the Mission House of the presby church cannot be accounted for by the Head Pastor of the church in whose custody the machines were left.

The laptops had been in the Mission House for the last three years due to the unavailability of a computer laboratory in the school.

It is unclear how the laptops got missing even though Starr News understands that the specific room where they were kept in the Mission House still remains closed.

The headmistress of the Kukurantumi JHS Suzzana Osafo who confirmed the development to Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah said they only realised the items had been stolen after they decided to go for them for practical lessons some days ago.

She said the matter has been reported to the Kukurantumi district Police Command. She added that an official notification has also been sent to the offices of the East Akyem Municipal Chief Executive Simon Peter Asirifi and the district education director.

Meanwhile, the Head Pastor of the Kukurantumi Presbyterian Church Reverend Alexander Frimpong, when contacted, told Ansah that he has no comment on the matter since the Police are investigating.

No arrest has so far been made in the case.
