Abore (Ash), Oct 5, GNA - Mr Augustine Boakye Mensah, the Headmaster of Manso Abore R/C Basic School has called on the government and cooperate entities to assist the school in building a new structure or renovating the dilapidated structure to ensure a serene environment for teaching and learning.

The School which was established in 1932, by the Roman Catholic Mission, has seen no remarkable renovation, except for the Junior High School (JHS) block which has been rebuilt by the former District Chief Executive (DCE) of Amansie West District.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Mensah said the primary five and six classroom blocks were in deplorable state and needed urgent restructuring.

He said when there was heavy downpour, the pupils were made to go home since there were no proper roofing to keep them in the classrooms.

The Kindergarten (KG) block, a wooden structure, was in a distressful state.

He said one of the KG classrooms collapsed and has led to the joint in class streams.

The School he said needed more furniture since most of the KG pupils sat on the bare floor during school hours.

Mr Mensah revealed that the School had no library and Information Communication Technology (ICT) facility, depriving the children of the necessary information to be acquired.

Alex Opoku Agyemang, a primary six teacher complained that due to the bad state of the windows in the classrooms, when school had closed, people trooped in and defecated in their classrooms, which was unhygienic for the pupils and teachers.

Teachers and pupils share washrooms since there were only two available.
