NDC NDC Aspirant Grabbed For Forgery
OCT 5, 2015 LISTEN

Bismark Tetteh Nyarko
Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, a chartered accountant who is contesting in the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Upper Manya Krobo Constituency, will today appear before Koforidua Circuit Court 'B' to answer questions on why he allegedly forged the signatures of over 30 branch executives on his nomination papers.

Mr. Bismark Tetteh was arraigned before court after a branch executive Major Offei led other 30 executives to report the matter to the Eastern Regional Police Command last week.

They alleged that the chartered accountant filed his nomination papers with fake names, signatures and party card codes.

Mr Tetteh also failed to meet the Eastern Regional Crime Officer, Chief Supt. Edward Fakye Kumi on three occasions over the matter.

The Regional Crime officer, who was unhappy with the attitude of the parliamentary aspirant, stormed the court last Friday to seek criminal summons to drag him before the court.

Sources alleged that Nyarko Tetteh managed to forge the signatures of over 30 branch executives of the party in the constituency before submitting his nominations papers to the National Vetting Committee of the NDC, which cleared him to contest in the parliamentary primaries slated for 7th November.

Chief Supt. Edward Fakye told DAILY GUIDE that the NDC aspirant came to his office to plead with him but he directed him to appear before the court today.

Accused Reacts
Mr Nyarko, when contacted by DAILY GUIDE, denied the allegations levelled against him by the Upper Manya-Krobo NDC branch executives but admitted that the some youth had reported him to the police.

He said he would not comment on the matter since it was currently pending before the court.

NDC Comments
Bismark Tawiah Boateng, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, told DAILY GUIDE in a telephone interview that the Upper Manya-Krobo youth had petitioned the Regional Secretariat over the matter.

He said he asked them to forward the matter to the National Executive Committee at the party's headquarters to take the final decision.

Some concerned youth in the area-John Narteh, Felix Tetteh and Garetu Sheibu on 20th September petitioned the Regional Secretariat of the NDC to disqualify the aspirant before Nyarko Tetteh picked the nomination forms.

They cited some fraud cases against him and even stated that he hailed from Lower Manya-Krobo and was not eligible to contest the Upper Manya- Krobo seat.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that during the vetting process, one Major Ted Tetteh (Rtd), who was a member of the vetting committee, managed to influence the other vetting committee members to clear Bismark Tetteh after he (Ted Tetteh) stormed Asesewa and Bormase on Friday, 25th September to declare that the party had brought the chartered accountant to unseat the incumbent MP Jeff Tetteh Kavianu.
