Vivo Energy, a global energy giant has officially opened its rejuvenated Airport Shell service station at the Airport city in Accra.

The state-of the-art service station which is designed to be the biggest single service station in West Africa has a quick service restaurant, an extended forecourt with 18 filling points, an ATM farm and a first class tyre service centre.

It also has an ultra-modern drive through washing bay; and retail centers such as a pharmacy and gift shop.

The company which has been Ghana since 1828 currently operates 163 service stations and remains the supplier of choice to the country’s retail and commercial markets, offering Shell’s superior fuels and lubricants.

In a welcome address the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana Mr Ebenezer Faulkner said the company will continue to set new standards for quality, convenience and service in Ghana.

Mr. Faulkner noted that company’s continuous effort to render quality service to clients over the years has propelled the company to win the Petroleum Company of the year award organized by the highly esteemed Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana.

Vivo Energy Ghana Limited is fully committed to growing and improving its business and creating opportunities for employment, customers, partners and local communities.

According to him Vivo Energy opened 24 new service station last year and promised to open 23 more service stations across the country said Mr. Faulkner.

Group CEO Vivo Energy Mr. Christian Chammas said Accra Airport city is a fast growing area and therefore transforming the station to a world class status demonstrates the company’s commitment to the changing needs of its customers.

He said Vivo Energy has upgraded and expanded the Airport Shell service station to meet new trends and the growing demands of dynamic communities in the country.

He noted that this also forms part of the company’s growth and strategic plan of modernizing operations to give true meaning of customer satisfaction to clients.

He said the company will continue to invest in the business to meet world class standards to ensure that their service stations are accessible, clean, efficient, customer friendly and also craftily designed to meet expectations of the valued clients.

Reading a speech on behalf of the Minister of Petroleum the Deputy Minister of Petroleum Nii Armah Dagadu advised fuel station owners to put in place high safety and security measures at their fuel station at avoid fire disasters.

He said recent times, the sitting of fuel stations at an unapproved location was becoming a cause of worry because the regulators condemned.

He praised the management of Vivo Energy for going through the laid down procedures to secure the approval before embarking any expansion work.

Mr. Dagadu also commended Vivo Energy to undertake special initiatives in Ghana that focuses on both road safety and environmental awareness.
