Vivo Energy Ghana Limited yesterday in Accra launched its refurbished Kotoka International Airport (KIA) Shell service station.

The upgraded and expanded station is to afford Vivo Ghana the opportunity to offer quality services to motorists within the airport enclave.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vivo Energy Group, Christian Chammas, in a keynote address at the inauguration, pointed out that the refurbishment of the KIA's Shell service station formed part of VE's growth plan of modernisation.

Mr Chammas stated that company would continue to invest in its business to meet world class standards.

He indicated that VE would ensure that its service stations in Ghana and beyond are accessible, clean, efficient, customer-friendly and designed to meet expectations of stakeholders.

According to him, the service station had been expanded to 18 filling points to ensure speedy, easy and hassle-free refuelling.

He added that 'we have also included other non-fuel services such as an ultra-modern Shell select shop, lube bay, first class tyrecentre, ATM farm, quick service restaurant and other specialised shops such as pharmacy, gift shop and travel and tour services.'

He indicated that 'the facilities have been designed to provide accessibility and convenience for persons with disability.'

The CEO described the KIA's Shell service station as Ghana's number fuel station and also the largest Shell service station in the sub-region.

He further indicated that 'Vivo Ghana operates 163 service stations and remains the supplier of choice to the country's retail and commercial markets, offering Shell's superior fuels and lubricants.'

Deputy Minister of Petroleum, Benjamin Dagadu, in a speech asserted that the refurbishment of the station was a demonstration of VIVO Energy's commitment to investing in the energy sector of the Ghanaian economy.

He expressed the belief that the expansion and upgrading of the service station would be of immense benefit to motorists.
