Press Release PPP To Hold Greater Accra Regional Congress On Saturday 17th October, 2015
SEP 29, 2015 LISTEN

The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Progressive People’s Party is scheduled to hold its regional conference to elect regional executives on Saturday 17 th October, 2015. The event which is expected to be witnessed by high profiled officials of the party is set to take place at the Accra Technical Training Centre near Circle in Accra at 10AM.

The Capital City’s Conference is expected to be graced by the President of Groupe Nduom and the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the party, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the Chairman of the PPP Nii Allottey Brew Hammond, Chairman of Advisory Council Mr. Mike Eghan Jnr, as well as many parliamentary candidates in the Party who would wish to use the platform to announce themselves to their constituents.

Each Constituency in the region shall present 33 members who shall be card bearing members in good standing to come and vote at this conference.

The positions to be contested for at the regional elections shall be the following:

  1. Chairperson
  2. Vice Chairperson
  3. Secretary
  4. Assistant Secretary
  5. Treasurer
  6. Organiser
  7. Assistant Organiser
  8. Women’s Organiser
  9. Assistant Women’s Organiser
  10. Youth Organiser
  11. Assistant Youth Organiser
  12. Education Secretary

The Greater Accra region shall be the 10th region to have successfully conducted its regional elections after all the other regions.

The PPP is poised to re-energize and entrench its dominance in the political landscape of the country. It is the aim of the party, not to be third in 2016 elections, but to win enough seats to form a considerable majority in parliament without failing the presidential elections.

The party has not been happy with the level of corruption with impunity in our country which has risen to the levels of our judiciary as depicted by the recent documentary by Anas Aremyaw Anas. It is the desire of the PPP to separate the office of the Attorney General from the ministry of Justice and provide and independent state prosecutor who shall be able to prosecute all persons who are found of wrong doing irrespective of their political affiliation or status in society.

The PPP is seeking power to use government resources to solve the little problems confronting the nation which the Mahama-Led administration has failed to do. The PPP being the second biggest opposition, wishes to overtake the NPP and NDC and become the problem solving government that will help Ghanaians live the life they deserve.

Signed

Richard Nii Amarh
