The Methodist Development and Relief Services, an NGO under the Methodist Church, Ghana, has donated medical supplies, and various items, worth GH¢ 20,000 to the flood and fire victims, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

Very Reverend Paul Adu, Director for Relief, who made the donation on behalf of the NGO, said it came under the 'Rescue the Perishing and Care for the Dying' programme of the Methodist Church.

He said they were touched by the plight of the victims, and therefore thought it wise to support them.

Very Rev. Adu said 'We deem it as a social responsibility to redeem the vulnerable, adding that the NGO had made other donations at Wenchi in Bong-Ahafo, and Ankaase in the Eastern Region, and gave the assurance that the NGO would do more donations in the other hospitals.

Colonel Mercy Yelbert, Matron of the Hospital, who received the items, thanked the NGO for the kind gesture, and expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way to ensure the speedy recovery of the victims.

She appealed to other benevolent organizations to come to the aid of the Hospital, since the government alone could not shoulder the responsibility.
