The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has apologized to the management of International School of Aviation located in Tema for listing and publishing the name of the school among unaccredited tertiary institutions in the country.

NAB rendered the apology in a letter dated August 17, 2015, signed by the Deputy Executive Secretary on behalf of the Executive Secretary and addressed to the International Coordinator, International School of Aviation, Tema.

The contents of the letter noted that 'Our checks at the Ghana Education Service (GES) and other places have revealed that your institution, International School of Aviation, Ghana purely runs non tertiary programmes'

It continued that 'having been thus convinced with our findings, we regret any inconveniences our publication may have caused your institution'

The letter further mentioned that 'The name of your institution (International School of Aviation, Ghana) has therefore been deleted from the list of unaccredited institutions on our records and website'

The National Accreditation Board had published the name of International School of Aviation Ghana among other institutions on its website on July 9, 2015.

The NAB on its website page indicated that the listed institutions did not have the mandate to award or issue academic and professional certificates to candidates.

It was also carried in the Daily Graphic newspaper under the heading 'Stay Clear of 53 Unaccredited Schools'

James Aliu, the International Coordinator, International School of Aviation, told DAILY GUIDE in an interview that the action of NAB had seriously affected its operations besides being an embarrassment to its hard earned reputation as a pre-tertiary institution with marked record of academic excellence.

He mentioned that the school which has turned out a number of students over the years has its headquarters in Lagos with campuses in Tema, Kumasi, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

The International School of Aviation Coordinator expressed hope that with the removal of the school's name from the NAB list as unaccredited institution, efforts will be made to return the operations of the institution to brisk life.

Some of the students who visited the school to assess the situation expressed disappointment in the action of NAB adding that it could have carried out a more critical check before black listing it.
