Complains And Shortcoming Of NPP With Respect To Voltarians In And Out Of Volta Region And Their Requests

Complains: NPP only visit Volta and their chiefs during election periods

Request: NPP should rather make it their habit to visit the region, chiefs, opinion leaders etc regularly before and during election times so that, they can familiarize with the region and its people before the election day

Volta Market Women
Complains: They are sad that nana addo, bawumia Rebecca, samira and the entire NPP chose to visit most central markets in Ghana but chose to neglect them especially those at Ho Central Market.

Request: They request Nana addo, Bawumia, Samira, Rebecca and the entire NPP to visit them sooner than soon and should be frequent and before the elections.

Youth
Complains: They always go through stress to join any NPP group because of the NDC party people always associate/tag them with

Request: They request NPP to get that tag off them so that, they can join NPP groups easily because, some of them really want to join but it is always hard for them to be accepted easily by most NPP people and groups

Volta NPP Executives
Complain: There are complains that most NPP executives in the Volta region especially the regional executives don't stay in the region, it is said that they are mostly in Accra doing some stuffs there rather than being in the region to increase the votes.

Request: such executives in volta who don't spend time in the region should try their best to spend more time there or a vote for people as executives who stay or will stay in the region most of their time in the next Regional Executive elections

Well Known Voltarians who are NPP
Complains: there are complains by some less known npp Voltarians that, the very well known npp Voltarians don't frequent the volta region to campaign for NPP

Request: they should frequent the region to campaign in the region to prove to the majority of Voltarians that, voltarians are accepted by NPP and so, a party for them also.

Financial/logistics
Complains:
a) Unknown NPP volta groups go for funds for campaigns in the region but what has been realised is that, the funds never reach the region to do the exact job for which they went for the money for

b) there are some complains that the region lacks the necessary resources, funds, logistics etc to help with the campaign in the region

c) There is a lack of visibility of the NPP in the Volta Region, the region is empty of NPP colours, flags, symbols, trace and noise

Request: Financers should deal directly with the NPP executives in the region or should include some executives whenever they want to work with some independent groups for campaign, also NPP should be made very visible in the region

The Voltarians In General
General Complains and perceptions:
1.TRIBAL
a) voltarians are togolese, when npp wins power, they will send them to togo

b)ashantis hate ewes and that, they fought with our forefathers so that, they can capture the ewe land and rule them and so, if they vote for them they will come to rule ewes and oppress them

c) The ashantis and akyem hates ewes and they often discriminate against ewes and others.

d) ndc alleged that prof. adu boahene made a comment that, if he wins or if npp wins power during the 1992 election, the people of volta will need to acquire a passport before entering Ghana.

e) if nana wins he will kill rawlings and sack ewes from work.

f) the imprisonment of ewes and other ndc members if the npp wins also poses fear into them

g) adjapong statement that they should kill ewes and ga is another tool and also, nana's all die be die statement(Nana's acceptance of the court verdict and apology on the all die be die statement has helped clean his name small there though)

2.MORAL
a) nana is a cocaine dealer if he wins he will make Ghana a cocaine country.

b) nana is arrogant
3.POLITICAL POINT OF VIEW..
a) UP disturbed nkrumah government and hence brain behind overthrow of nkrumah

b) Busia and Akuffo mismanaged Ghana and stole most of the state money abroad for their children and so if nana addo is voted for, he will do the same thing as his father did.

c) when Ghana was in crisis, these people(NPP) were no where to be found in the country, now that things are getting better, they want to come and rule.

d) in the olden days, they queued for items, it was rawlings who came to change things so a reason to be loyal to his party

Requests:
a) political forum in all constituencies in collaboration with the national executives and indigens in the party to kill the togolese concept and that, npp will not send any one to togo

b) articles about the formation of the UP tradition should be taken to the grass roots by the campaign team to let them know how deeply rooted voltarians were in the formation of UP now NPP

c) constant ground breaking tour by flagbearer and campaign team to pose confidence in the people that npp has no plans of sending voltarians to togo and that npp also belongs to voltarians

d) neither ashantis nor akyems hate voltarians and hence they are brothers and sisters, reference to some Voltarian stool and family names being the same as some akan names is an indication that they are one people eg: atakora.

e) some developmental policies and projects pursued by UP tradition such as the keta sea defence wall, major roads, nursing training at Anlo, upgrade of the Ho polytechnic, CMB scholarship for children of cocoa farmers in the Volta region and others all show that the NPP don't hate ewes and so they should be told and made to know

f) more voltarians should be involved in the national executives and national campaign.

g) more grass root participation of youths to enable them develop love for the party.

h) high profile people should move down to the area to solicit for the paramount chiefs' views for support.

i) tescon should be extended to more schools in volta

j) more npp radio programmes in volta to pose party's confidence in the people of Volta.

k) nana should be interviewed on more of the FM stations in volta about his plans for voltarians and through that clear the air once and for all that, npp isnt for voltarians and also npp as a political party has no plans/intentions of sending voltarians to Togo as being proclaimed by ndc and also out there in volta too.

l) NPP should always be fast in disassociating itself from any tribal statement by any of its members

m) Projects that Voltarians will love to be done in their region should be sought for and used as a campaign message in the region

n) Others
