Jema, (B/A), Sept. 3, GNA - Mrs Felicia Adjei, 42, the special aide to the First Lady Lordina Mahama, on Tuesday picked nomination forms to contest the National Democratic Party (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Kintampo South Constituency.

She is the only contestant to file her nomination papers to contest the NDC incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Mr Yaw Effah-Baafi, a Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).

Mrs Adjei told Journalists at Jema that she had initiated several programmes towards women empowerment, and asked the delegates to vote for her.

This according to her would enable her to implement such programmes for the benefit of women and girls in particular.

Mrs Adjei appealed to women to support her to win the primaries and also to win the parliamentary seat as well.

In a related development, Mr Prince Opoku Mensah, the personal assistant to Mr Kofi Portuphy, the National Chairman of the NDC is also filling nomination forms to contest the primaries in the Techiman South constituency.

The 36-year-old businessman is contending Mr Alex Kyeremeh, a Deputy Minister of Education in-charge of Basic Education.

Mr Mensah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the NDC ought to give the youth the opportunity to contribute their part towards nation building.

He emphasized that since the NDC cherished internal democracy, the party leadership and supporters must guard against tendencies that could derail the gains, and exposed the image of the party to public ridicule and disrepute.
