Eastern Regional NPP Congratulates Newly Elected Assembly Members

The Eastern Regional Executives of the opposition New Patriotic Party congratulate our hardworking elected Assembly members. Your efforts have paid-off so you deserve to be congratulated and commended.

Our information across the region indicate that apart from Amanokrom in the Akuapem North Constituency, where a known NDC Member won, majority of de Electoral areas in the Eastern Region region were won by known NPP members including the Krobo lands and Afram Plains with few going to Social and politically neutral individuals. This is a good signal and a strong indication that NDC's Agenda 50 / 50 is dead n buried. This affirms our assertion that the programme they went to launch at Suhum was nothing other than Alcohol 50 / 50.

We want to congratulate all those who won with the promise of working with them to bring development to our grassroots people in 2017 when Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo assumes the reigns of Presidency.

In as much as we agree that the voting processes were generally peaceful, free and fair, the voter turn was largely low due to despondency among the people of a failed Mahama-led NDC government. We also observed that the voter register had names of people who do not reside in some of the polling stations which buttress our calls for a new and credible Voter Register as we prepare for 2016 general elections.

We also, want to use this opportunity to wish all those who couldn't win better luck next time and encourage them to put themselves together with a strong conviction of working to promote our decentralisation efforts as a country.
