Ackuaku is Assemblywoman for Ho-Loboli

Ho, Sept. 02, GNA - Ms Dorcas Felicia Ackuaku, an Educationist was on Tuesday elected as the first female Assemblywoman for the Loboli Electoral Area in the Ho Municipal area.

Ms Ackuaku, an outspoken social worker, polled 202 votes to beat three other contestants.

The closest contender, Mr Bright Agbozo, a Lecturer polled 168 votes, Ms Martha Gato-Lagble, 137 votes and Mr Charles Searyoh 20 votes.

Ms Ackuaku and her supporters turned the community centre at the SSNIT Flats into a jamboree after the results were declared.

She told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that she considered her election as a call to serve and that her focus was to make the electoral area the cleanest in the municipality.

Meanwhile, results for the Unit Committee election was not declared because two candidates were tied on points.

The election was generally peaceful but poorly patronized.
