Former director of Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency of the World Bank Group, Dr Ken Kwaku and Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Head of United Nations Office in West Africa and former ECOWAS president, have once again rendered invaluable support to the Regent of Mion and his people by presenting a brand new fully registered Motorking tricycle

This follows Dr. Kwaku’s promise to the regent to help ameliorate the difficulty of keeping children in the palace in school since they had to walk long distance to collect grasses to feed the horses and other livestock. To the beneficiaries, this was an immeasurable gesture and a tremendous relief. But to Dr. Ken Kwaku, this was just one of his numerous philanthropic efforts in the North and other parts of the country as this is not the first time he is doing this.

For the past few years, he has rendered various forms of support to the people of the North including helping renovate a creche in Sambu in the Mion District, renovating the Tamale vocational Institute and giving scholarship to some students in the school. Dr. Kwaku also supports the Dr. Ken Kwaku Young and Most Promising Entrepreneur Award (named after him) as part of the annual Northern Business Excellence Awards.

Dr. Kwaku’s benevolence extends beyond the North to other parts of the country. These efforts have been institutionalized into the Rebecca Agroh Memorial Foundation, an NGO named after his late mother and whose focus areas include livelihood support, capacity building and education for women and girls in Ghana and Africa.

Undoubtedly, his efforts are making significant impact on the lives of many. It is hoped that others will emulate the good example of Dr. Ken Kwaku for the benefit of their communities and the country as a whole.
