Obuasi MCE Gives Hope To Small Scale Miners

Hon. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, the Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi has asked residents in Obuasi especially the teaming unemployed youth to heave a sigh of relief as he is working around the clock to revive the once vibrant small scale mining business in the ‘Golden City’.

Hon. Ofori Agyemang said this when he addressed residents of Ahansonyewodea, and Tutuka electoral areas on Friday, 28th August, 2015 as part of his tour of the Obuasi Municipality.

The tour which was started on 17th April, 2015 is to afford the Municipal Chief Executive the opportunity to meet and interact with the people at the grass root level.

The visibly excited people lauded the Municipal Chief Executive for visiting and sharing in their concerns. They through their chiefs and opinion leaders raised issues such as;

  • Construction of boreholes
  • Rehabilitation of existing roads
  • Building of market sheds
  • Building of additional school blocks
  • playing grounds
  • Toilet facilities as among urgent issues they want the Municipal Assembly to address.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi who was in the company of officers of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly and a few party bigwigs assured the people that steps would be taken to address their grievances.

He further opined “he will lobby to make sure the next Assembly will be the first to be inaugurated in the country after the District Assembly Elections to enable the Assembly hit the ground running to implement its projects and policies in the budget”.
