The spiritual leader of Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana Sheikh Khalifa Abdulai Ahmad Maikano has visited the president press corps accident victims at 37 Military Hospital on last week Tuesday.

The leader was at the 37 Military Hospital to sympathies with the victims of the accident which happened barely two weeks ago at Dawhenya.

Reports indicated that, the bus carrying the reporters was returning from Ho where President John Dramani Mahama had attended a church programme of the E.P Church Of Ghana.

Ghanaian Times reporter, Samuel Nuamah lost his life in the accident and several others who sustained various degrees of Injury were sent to the Military Hospital for treatment.

The spiritual leader prayed for almighty allah’s mercy for quick relief and forgiveness for the victims. He called on Ghanaians to be regular in prayers since the whole world is now at a critical time of life.

He urged, all believers to be more prayerful so as to avert some satanic plots against mankind as the end time approaches.

Already, Communications Minister, Edward Omane Boamah had assured that government has taken steps to provide victims the best healthcare.

According to him, out of the seven injured journalists who are still being treated at the 37 Military Hospital, six – four men and two women - have been moved to the Tamakloe ward.

A bus conveying the presidential press corps from the Volta region to Accra was involved in a serious accident when one of its tyres burst, causing it to skid off the road and plunge into a swampy area along the road.

There were about 20 journalists in the bus. Many of them were injured in the incident and were airlifted to the 37 Military Hospital.

According to reports, that the bus was part of the president’s convoy, but Dr Boamah said President Mahama had not left the Volta Region, Ho at the time the incident occurred.

He said the presidential press corps bus was about 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of the president’s convoy.
