Regional News Search For Barton Oduros Replacement Begins As Walker Picks Form
AUG 29, 2015 LISTEN

Mr. Charles Kojo Walker, one of the five parliamentary hopefuls of the ruling National Democratic Congress seeking to replace Lawyer Ebow Barton Oduro in the Cape Coast North Constituency, has picked his nomination form.

Mr. Walker, who is the youngest aspirant among the five, stormed the regional party headquarters in the company of his elder brother, Johnny Walker and big sister Princess Walker.

Also with him was a cross section of his teaming supporters who were beautifully dressed in a white T-Shirt with the picture of Mr. Walker beautifully embossed with pairs of different colours of trousers and shoes to match.

Shortly after picking the form, Mr. Walker who is affectionately called “Home Boy” said, “picking of my form today marks the beginning of another victory for the NDC in this constituency”.

“Let us go out there and sell the good message to our delegates devoid of rancour and acrimony. Don’t let us insult or condemn anybody because we are all one family.” He advised.

With God on our side, we can win the primaries and the general election later. Mr. Walker emphasised.

In an exclusive interview, Mr. Walker hinted that his motive to contest is to enable him win the seat for the NDC and continue the good work of his later father, Uncle Kwamina Walker by serving the constituents with humility and selflessness.

The other four potential aspirants who would be contesting are: Former Mayor of Cape Coast, Mr. Anthony Egyir Aikins, Mr. Koby Achampong, former deputy interior minister, Mr. Justice Boison and Mr. Kaakra Yalley, a twin brother of Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley.

It will be recalled that the incumbent MP, Lawyer Barton Ebow Oduro, who is also the first deputy speaker of parliament, has made clear his intentions not to seek for re-election.

The NDC opened its upcoming primaries nominations across the country yesterday, Thursday.

The gate has been opened to all parliamentary aspirants of the party till September 10 when it will be shuttered.
