NDC Boot Out NDC – Titus Tells Ghanaians In Canada
AUG 28, 2015 LISTEN

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover, has given members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) a push to defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 general elections.

He gave the encouragement when the Toronto chapter of the NPP held a town hall meeting for Ghanaians resident in Greater Toronto, Canada, recently.

According to Titus-Glover, the victory that is coming the way of the NPP is like a tornado that he said, some NDC members themselves had admitted they could not stop.

He was hopeful that an NPP government under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, would definitely transform the country.

The MP described Nana Addo, the 2016 NPP presidential candidate, as a man of vision, a man of principle, a man of transformation, who is full of creativity and eager to put his ideas and expertise into practice to see to the development of the country.

Nii Tutus-Glover admitted that the party needs to win the real battle at the polling stations, urging all members to work extremely hard towards achieving that.

According to him, the hearing of the 2012 presidential petition by the Supreme Court revealed that there were a lot of anomalies that went on at the polling stations that needed to be corrected.

Again, he said it came out clearly that the voter register was bloated and for that matter, there is the urgent need to compile a new one to create a level playing field for next year's elections. 'The NPP will be radical and resolute in dealing with such issues before the elections are held,' he assured.

Titus-Glover charged, 'The NDC cannot compare itself to the NPP when it comes to ruling the country. But when it comes to massaging figures to rig elections, they are experts.'

$53.8m Loan
The Tema East MP said members of the NDC are scared about the qualities of Nana Akufo-Addo, his resolve to ensure accountability and stop corruption when elected president. Titus-Glover challenged the minister for fisheries and aquaculture to account for the $53.8 million World Bank loan which was to revamp the fishing industry and aquaculture in Ghana.

He argued that arresting fishermen is not something that will solve the troubles facing the fishing ministry, but rather using the $53.8 million World Bank loan to fix the Tema shipyard and repair vessels to revamp the fishing sector.

The law maker said he would charge parliament to summon the sector minister to account for the $53.8 million loan when the house resumes sitting.
