"Volta Young Democrats" Calls For Sanity In NDC’s Presidential And Parliamentary Primaries

"Volta Young Democrats" commend the NDC's hardworking individuals who have conceived the idea to stand on the ticket of the NDC to help develop their constituencies and the country at large in a democratic representation.

As today marks the official date for the opening of nominations for the Presidential and Parliamentary primaries in the 275 constituency offices of the National Democratic Congress, we wish to entreat all aspirants/candidates to avoid politics of violence, machination, scheming and vandalism as their modus operandi.

We humbly call on all aspirants/candidates to apprise their supporters /followers from causing mayhem in this fair and democratic process.

As a party of peace and tolerance, aspirants and their supporters must be mindful of what they propagate about their fellow contenders.

National, regional,constituency and branch executives must also be mindful of their unnecessary interferences since our party's constitution frowns on their open support for candidates/ aspirants in contest for presidential and parliamentary primaries.

We must always look out for the bigger and collective battle in 2016 knowing very well that every party member has a role to perform in AGENDA 2016.

As much as practicable, let's avoid the media and the print media especially negative publicity since our party has clear-cut measures of addressing internal party differences.

Let us never forget that NDC is ourselves and not an alien political party over us. The ultimate decision-makers of our party are not the President, party Chairmen, Parliamentarians and Government officials but the grass root electorates,so their views must be respected.

If we desire the NDC of peace and unity, then we cannot achieve such desire of the party through violence. If we desire the party without discrimination, then we must not discriminate against anyone or any group of person's .

We must always remember the will of the people since that is the zealous and resilient force to building a stronger party and society. Let us avoid the sophistical rhetoric that elections must be won "at all-cost " since that is the opium for wrongdoing in our electoral dealings.

Let our actions be carried based on our constitutional guidelines which regulate all our processes. Any possible act that is contrary to our supreme constitutional interest will lead to arming our opponents which is a tool for self-destruction/party-destruction. Aspirants and their supporters must ensure respect for one another since that is the primo for democratic participation.

We however call on all comrades to remain calm and campaign non-violently for peace,unity and victory.
