Accra, 30, Sept. GNA - The Electoral Commission (EC) on Wednesday fixed Tuesday October 12 to Sunday, October 17, 2004 for the exhibition of the Provisional Voters' Register throughout the country.

The five-day exercise starts from 0700 hours to 1800 hours each day including Saturday and Sunday.

A statement signed by Mr Henry Okyne, Director, Public Affairs of EC, said the exhibition would be held at all registration centres to enable registered voters to crosscheck their details and where appropriate make the necessary corrections.

The voters are also to ascertain; whether the particulars on their voters' ID cards correspond to the details in the register. It would enable potential voters to be assured of the right to vote on December 7, 2004.

Voters could also use the exhibition exercise to make claims for correction of any clerical error in their particulars and those whose names have been omitted could make claims for their names to be included in the register, by showing evidence of registration.

The statement said the exhibition would further afford Ghanaians the opportunity to challenge the inclusion of the name of any person if they had valid reasons to believe that he or she was not qualified to register as a voter.

It entreated all registered voters to go to the centres where they registered to inspect the provisional register.
