The mounting of platform for assemble member aspirants in the Kumbeihi electoral area was turned into a children's affair as children took over what should have been an adult affair.
The venue for the event which was the chief's palace saw more than 90% of the patrons being children with just a few adults lurking around.
The exercise which was scheduled to start at 3:30pm finally started at 5:30pm by which time some more adults including the chief gathered for the program.
An official of the Electoral Commission Who spoke to the media disclosed that the EC had informed the people of the activity,wondering why people did not turn out for it.
He disclosed that turnout at Konta,Dobile and kambali was high.
When the program finally started a person with disability Mahmoud Abdul Mumin Who is contesting in the September 1 elections asked the electorates to vote for him so that he can mobilise the people to develop the area.
According to him, even though he was not a member of the assembly he has been contributing to the development of the community in the form of organising vacation classes for children in the area.
7 candidates are aspiring for the slot to represent the people at the assembly.
