Upper West Regional CPP Executive Committee supports Prof. Delle

Wa, August 18, GNA - The Upper West Regional Executive Committee, Constituency Executives and the Tertiary branches of the Convention People's Party (CPP), have pledged their unflinching support for Professor Edmund N. Delle to lead the party in the 2016 election.

At a press conference in Wa on Monday, the Regional Executive Committee said Prof Delle had distinguished himself among many committed leading members of the CPP, and deserved to lead the party in the 2016 general elections.

The committee said Prof Delle was elected the Chairman and Leader of the CPP in 2004 and 2007, in which the party made strides, by getting two members in Parliament.

Prof Delle had committed resources to the administration of the CPP, and continued to assist in the re-organisation efforts of the party.

The committee said the battle ahead needed an experienced hand, such as Prof. Delle, who had been tested once a 'chairman and always a chairman.'

According to the committee, Prof Delle was a grassroot person, and urged all well-meaning persons in the CPP to give their support to him for a united party, come the party's Congress in September.

The committee said the challenges facing Ghana could be prudently managed if ideologically trained minds in the CPP were given the needed opportunity.
