Tijaniyya Muslim Leader On A Mission To Correct Misconception About Islam

The Spiritual Leader of Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana Sheikh Abul- Faidi Abdulai Ahmed Maikano is embarking on a mission to correct misconceptions about the Islamic religion which is mostly equated to violence.

He is currently targeting and visiting mostly Diplomatic Missions in the country to avail to them the true image of Islam as a true and peaceful religion given to mankind through the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) by Allah.

As part of his regular visits, at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ghana when he met the Deputy Head of Mission, Per Mogstad; he emphasized that, Islam is Arabic word which means Peace And Submission, “the two words does not in any way come close to violence.”

Sheikh Abul- Faidi thereby reiterated the commitment of the Muslim communities and the people for a peaceful coexistence among the diverse religious background of the people of Ghana.

The spiritual leader also presented a proposal which sought to seek opportunities for skills training and upgrading and youth empowerment in other to get the youth active and productive all the time to spear to the world of another bunch of terrorists been groomed due to idle living.

He mentioned that, in Ghana there are over a million Tijaniyya followers of which most of them are the youth and therefore finds it necessary for seek for opportunities for them to empower them with the right mix of religious and secular education and training.

The Deputy Head of Mission, however, noted that he is pleased with the visit by the Tijaniyya’s leader although, the Norwegian country is not seen as an Islamic country but he defied the odd to recognize and visit them.

Mr. Mogstad assured Sheikh Abul- Faidi of the Norwegian government support after they have presented the proposal presented to the Mission to the appropriate headquarters in their country.

He his remarks, Mr. Mogstad stated that, back in his country Pakistani Muslims are the majority of the Muslim population in the country and said, he will look for necessary collaborations among the Muslim communities in Norway to partner the Tijaniyya Muslim Council In Ghana for effective and quick implementation of programs of the Council.

Already, Sheikh Abul- Faidi and his team had visited the Vatican Embassy in Ghana, The Turkish and Morocco Embassy in Ghana.
