The transportation woes of the Sone health center in the Nandom district has been resolved by the MP for the area Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor who presented a motorbike valued at four-thousand cedis to the facility.
The facility which is located in a hard to reach section of the district appealed to the MP through the assembly to provide them with a means of transport to aid in getting essentials for the facility.
Speaking to Starr News on the sidelines of the presentation, the chief executive of the Nandom district Cuthbert Baba Kumpiel Who represented the MP said, government is committed to providing quality healthcare services to the people hence the MP's decision to respond to the appeal by the facility.
He added that, the motorbike will help the nurse in charge of the facility to move to other facilities for assistance in times of need and also help her embark on home visitation which is part of their mandate as Community health officers.
Mr. Kumpiel urged the facility to employ Good maintainnace culture to ensure the longevity of the motorbike. The director of health services in the Nandom district Genevieve Kpari on her part thanked the MP for the gesture and pledged their commitment to maintaining the motorbike.
