Agricultural Development Bank (adb) has donated 100 mattresses to the Volta Regional Hospital at Ho to improve healthcare delivery.

At a short ceremony to present the items worth GH¢33,100, the Executive Head of Finance at adb, James Sagoe explained that the bank has always been committed to supporting health institutions since quality healthcare is one of the foremost services people must enjoy.

'Quality healthcare delivery is a service that the citizenry must enjoy and access in order to maintain a healthy nation and over the years adb has been committed to supporting various hospitals to help achieve this in diverse ways. Today it's the turn of Volta Regional Hospital and we are donating 100 pieces of mattress for the wards,' he noted in his address.

He added that 'most facilities in hospitals require upgrade and the supply of these mattresses will bring some relief and comfort to patients while they are on admission here'.

Dr. John Tampouri, Medical Director at the Volta Regional Hospital, who received the items on behalf of the Volta Regional Hospital, expressed profound thanks to adb for coming to their aid to help replace the worn-out mattresses in the wards.

'We are overwhelmed by the gesture of adb, and we sincerely thank the bank for this support. This will no doubt help us in our patient care, especially patients who are admitted here to get some comfort while on admission, he said.

Dr. Tamouri further indicated that 'healthcare financing can't be done by government alone and we appeal to other corporate bodies to follow adb's example towards improving healthcare.
