Two unemployed men have appeared before AN Accra circuit court for allegedly robbing a military officer. They are Baba Anaba Musah and Evans Ogbey.

The two are alleged to have in 2013 at Teshie in Accra, robbed one Emmanuel Quartey and his daughters of their laptop and four mobile telephones.

Charged with conspiracy to rob and robbery, the two accused persons appearing before a court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh, denied the offence and they were remanded into police custody until August 17, 2015.

The facts of the case as presented by Chief Inspector K. Adu are that the complainant is a military officer resident at Agbleza whilst the accused persons also lived at Teshie - all suburbs of Accra.

He said about two years ago the accused persons and two others namely, Samuel Bortey and Alex Ametepey Tetteh, armed with a locally made pistol and machetes, went to the house of the soldier around 2am, subjected him and his daughters to beatings and robbed them of the adore-stated items.

Chief Inspector Adu indicated that two months later, Samuel and Alex were arrested, charged and sentenced by an Accra circuit court to 23 years' imprisonment in hard labour.

He said in their caution statements, Samuel and Alex mentioned Baba and Evans as their accomplices, adding that about a month ago Baba and Evans who were being held by the Tema Regional police in a similar offence, admitted their involvement in the said robbery.
