Harare (AFP) - Batsman Ross Taylor sat out the decisive third one-day international against Zimbabwe on Friday and was ruled out of the remainder of New Zealand's tour after requiring minor surgery to his groin.

Taylor was struck in the area on Thursday and underwent surgery that night, before it was confirmed that he would not take part in the two remaining games in Zimbabwe -- or the South Africa leg of New Zealand's tour.

New Zealand drafted James Neesham back into their side for the third ODI as a result, while Ben Wheeler came in for Matt Henry.

Zimbabwe won the toss for the third time in a row, and captain Elton Chigumbura decided his side would bowl first.

The hosts made two changes to their side, with John Nyumbu and Neville Madziva coming in as Prosper Utseya and Chris Mpofu were left out.

Teams:

Zimbabwe: Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza, Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza Butt, Elton Chigumbura (capt), Sean Williams, Regis Chakabva (wk), Graeme Cremer, John Nyumbu, Tinashe Panyangara, Neville Madziva.

New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson (capt), James Neesham, Grant Elliott, Colin Munro, Luke Ronchi (wk), Nathan McCullum, Mitchell McClenaghan, Ben Wheeler, Ish Sodhi.
