The Public Relations Officer of the Old Boys Association of Accra Academy, Nii Maale-Adsei has confirmed that the 2015 Accra Aca Homecoming celebrations will come off this Saturday, August 8 at the school premises.

Speaking in an interview, Nii Maale intimated that the annual Homecoming is attended by lots of Bleoobii (as Accra Academy Old Students are affectionately called) from the Diaspora whilst those at home anxiously await and planned for the event.

“Bleoobii in the Diaspora actually plan their leaves around this time just to make sure they are not left in annual Homecoming Event”, he noted.

“Coming together as one of Accra Academy gives each of the Old Boys the opportunity to meet new people, network, show our School Pride, plan and devise ways and means to support our alma matter and create new memories not forgetting the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and have loads and loads of fun,” he added.

He however assured that there will be plenty to eat and drink.

According to Nii Maale, the organizers of this year’s have agreed that the event kicks off at 8am with games including football, volleyball amongst others between 70’, 80’, 90’ and the 20’s year Groups.

The afternoon will witness Jama Competition, Roll Call, Gari Soakings and Kenkey eating competition with brass band music.

This year’s event will be graced by some notable personalities including the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Doe Adjaho, Mr. Felix Addo, the newly appointed Board Chairman of GNPC, and the CEO of the GNPC, Mr. Alex Mould.

Accra Academy was established on 20th July, 1931 by 4 young guys all under the age of 30, K.G. Konuah 27, G.N. Alema 29, J.A. Halm-Addo 29 and S.N. Awuletey 26.
