National Service Personnel Must Rally Behind NPP For Better Jobs From 2017—Nana Ofori Kissi Ratina
04.08.2015 LISTEN

I congratulate my fellow National Service Personnel 2014/2015 batch for the great service we have rendered to mother Ghana in accordance to ACT 1980(Act 426). Let us rally behind NPP in 2016 for better jobs in 2017 and beyond.

I thank the Almighty God for seeing us through and pray we secure a source of livelihood.

Now that we have ended the service, what each and everyone of us is thinking of is JOB. It is very unfortunate the Mahama led administration has placed embargo on employment on both public and private sector employment hence students after graduation, are not getting jobs to be offered and this has escalated unemployment rate in the nation.

The government embargo on public sector employment coupled with lack of competence to effectively manage the economy to attract investors and maintain those already in the country, have ended up collapsing most businesses (indirect embargo). The private sector which is the alternative resort for job keep collapsing while the smart ones keep laying off workers day in and day out. This has rendered the job future blur and tainted.

We bear witness to ourselves that when NPP was in government, both the private and public sectors were employing hence unemployment was not rampantly mentioned as today. The initiation of the National Youth Employment Programme provided job avenues at the door step of Ghanaians particularly, the youth whereby even JHS/SHS leavers gained very lucrative jobs. Six (6) years down the lane, the NDC government has collapsed the NYEP through corruption and mismanagement just to render the youth hopeless in life.

In Ghana now, we have ''Association of Graduates Unemployed''. Many have graduated years under NDC government and still keep writing application letters. I keep asking myself that, if those with Degree, HND, Diploma are not getting jobs then, what is the faith of JHS and SHS leavers?

Within six (6) years, the NDC government has raised national debt from GH¢9.5 billion to GH¢ 90 Billion. No generational thinking leader will borrow unreasonably like that, just for future generations to bear the consequences. This government has increased interest rate as well as taxes to the unbearable point hence deterring investors.

The destiny of our future resides in our thumb come 2016 election which is an election to choose between a government that comes to power to create jobs for the youth (both educated and uneducated) and a government that freezes employment to the level that even Masters Degree holders are not getting jobs.

Election 2016 is either vote for NPP and get/secure your job or vote for NDC and loose/never get job. Have we asked ourselves why anytime the NDC governs for few years, they run to IMF for bailout?

Let us dump all forms of interest and vote base on facts and competence. It is true that most Ghanaians do not vote based on policies and track records but we being educated, let us accept the challenge to change the status quo.

The NPP has records of good economic management which eventually lead to job creation. Let's dump tribal interest and vote for our future.

Let's join the Crusade For Change now. Nana Addo-Bawumia led NPP is ready to offer great services to the nation which both the educated and uneducated will all benefit.

Parents, students and all Ghanaians must advocate for change now. Mahama's NDC government has failed the youth and we can't entrust another four (4) years into their corrupt hands.

Let us all be Ambassadors For Change.
Cocoa farmers deserve better prices, public workers (teachers, doctors, etc) deserve better conditions of work.

Ghanaians deserve better.
Signed...
